The police department will use the grant to purchase monoculars for patrol officers to use in surveillance and other tasks. The grant is a 50/50 match to supplement money being used from seizure funds.
“This grant allows us to outfit officers to better serve the community without spending tax dollars,” said Dayton Police Chief Robert Vine. “This will help them to do their jobs more efficiently, effectively and safely.”
CenterPoint Energy grants lend support to community development, health and human services and education initiatives that enhance the quality of life for their customers and the communities within their service territory.
